Jacques "Jacky" Munaron (born September 8, 1956 in Namur ) is a former Belgian football goalkeeper and active goalkeeping coach . He has been training the goalkeepers of Futsal Project Halle-Gooik since 2017 .
Player career
Munaron began his career in 1974 at RSC Anderlecht . In his 15 years in Brussels he won 15 titles. He won the Belgian championship four times, the Belgian Cup four times, the Belgian and European Supercup twice, and the European Cup Winners' Cup twice . In 1983 he also won the UEFA Cup . In the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1978 Munaron was only a substitute, but he was in the two final games of the 1983 UEFA Cup in the goal of the violets. In 1989 he moved to RFC Liège , where he was able to record his fifth cup success in Belgium in 1990. From 1992 to 1995 he was under contract with city rivals Standard Liège , where he lifted the Belgian Cup for the sixth time in 1993. He ended his active career in 1995.
Internationally, he played eight times for Belgium, but was called up for the national team 44 times. He took part in the 1982 World Cup in Spain (from the second group phase), the 1984 European Football Championship in France (from the group phase) and the successful 1986 World Cup in Mexico , where Belgium came fourth.
After the active career
After his playing career, Munaron became a goalkeeping coach. From 2004 to 2007 he was in charge of the goalkeepers at RSC Anderlecht . From 2009 he looked after the goalkeepers of the Turkish first division club Trabzonspor and from there in 2010 he moved back to his home country to KAA Gent .
