Jacob Becker , also Jakob Becker (born September 19, 1864 in Ludwigshöhe ; † April 13, 1949 in Sprendlingen ) was a German physician and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Becker attended the elementary school and the secondary school in Oppenheim , the secondary schools in Mainz and Gießen , where he himself passed the Matura exam. He studied in Giessen and Berlin and passed the state medical examination in the summer of 1888, served a year and in 1889 went to Berlin for further training . In 1890 he settled in Dietzenbach and in 1891 in Sprendlingen. He fulfilled the military obligation in the personal company of the infantry regiment No. 116 as a junior doctor. He was also chairman of the trade association, member of the district council of trade associations, chairman of the journeyman's examination committee, chairman of the Reich Association against Social Democracy and chairman of various social corporations.

From 1903 to 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Hesse 5 Offenbach , Dieburg , and the National Liberal Party . Between 1912 and 1918 he represented the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Hesse 8 Bingen , Alzey .

His younger brother was the lawyer and politician Johann Becker (1869–1951).
