Jacques Nessimian

Jacques Nessimian , also Jacob Nessimian (born January 22, 1876 in Mardin , Turkey ; † July 2, 1960 ) was the Armenian Catholic Archbishop of Mardin (Turkey) and later Archbishop "ad personam" of Iskanderiya in Egypt .

Life

Jacques Nessimian was ordained a priest of the Armenian Catholic Church on February 24, 1901 . He was elected Archbishop of Mardin on June 29, 1928 and was confirmed by the Holy See a day later . The Patriarch of Cilicia Archbishop Boghos Bedros XIII. Titian consecrated him bishop on February 3, 1929. As archbishop "ad personam" he took over the episcopal see of Alexandria on August 5, 1933 . He was Mitkonsekrator at Antonio drape OP Titular Archbishop of Neocaesarea ( Apostolic Delegate in Iraq ) and Alexandros Scandar the Coptic Catholic Bishop of Assiut .
