Jahant AVA (recognized since July 17, 2006) is a wine-growing region in the US state of California . The area spans the two administrative areas of San Joaquin County and a small part of Sacramento County . The protected designation of origin is the smallest sub-zone of the superordinate Lodi AVA . The unique feature of the zone is the almost pink Rocklin-Jahant clay soil . Due to the nearby Mokelumne River and the river delta of the Sacramento River , the climate is slightly cooler than in the vicinity and the soil is well drained.
