Jaime Cristóbal Abril González (born July 17, 1972 in El Espino , Colombia ) is a Colombian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Arauca .

Life

Jaime Cristóbal Abril González received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Tunja on February 10, 1996 .

On 16 April 2016 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Putia in Byzacena and auxiliary bishop in Nueva Pamplona . The Archbishop of Nueva Pamplona, Luis Madrid Merlano , gave him episcopal consecration on June 4th of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Tunja, Luis Augusto Castro Quiroga IMC , and the Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia, Archbishop Ettore Balestrero .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Arauca on November 18, 2019. The inauguration took place on December 12 of the same year.
