Jakob Friedrich Weishaar , from 1830 von Weishaar (born May 3, 1775 in Korb ; † September 19, 1834 in Köngen ), was a German politician in Württemberg and co-creator of the constitution of the Kingdom of Württemberg .

Life

Jakob Friedrich Weishaar, whose name is also spelled Weißhaar, was the son of the farmer and wine grower Joseph Weishaar (* 1741; † 1790) in Korb in the Rems Valley . From 1787 until his death, his father Joseph Weishaar was also mayor of the small community in Korb. His son Jakob Friedrich first attended the Latin school, high school and convent school before after studying law at the he University of Tuebingen for Dr. iur. utr. PhD. A two-year study trip took him through the German states, revolutionary France and the Netherlands. In 1797 Weishaar became a lawyer at the ducal Württemberg court in Stuttgart .

In the meeting of the estates convened again in 1819, Weishaar became vice-president and member of the constitutional commission after reaching an agreement with the new King Wilhelm . After the constitution of the Kingdom of Württemberg was passed on September 23, 1819, with his significant involvement, Weishaar was a member of the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament from 1819 to 1825 and from 1825 to 1831 as a member of the Leonberg Oberamt . From 1820 to 1830 he was also President of the Chamber of Deputies and now led this office with a conservative-authoritarian attitude loyal to the government. In 1830 the white hair, who had meanwhile suffered from a serious illness, left the Chamber of Deputies. At the special request of the king, he was Minister of the Interior and of Church and School System for a few months from April 3, 1832. However, with the permission of the king, he gave up this office on August 10 of the same year because of his health and growing political resistance.

Private

When Jakob Friedrich Weishaar was 11 years old, his mother Eva Barbara Weishaar, nee. Klink (* 1741; † 1786). His three siblings also died early. Weishaar was married three times. From his first marriage in 1803 to Auguste Friederike von Scheffer (* 1782; † 1807) had three children, from his marriage to Auguste Wilhelmine Hallwachs (* 1781; † 1854), one child from 1808 and divorced after a few weeks, and from the third in 1822 with Maria von Notter (* 1802; † 1886) married three more children.

In the years 1823 to 1825 Weishaar first bought a dairy farm in Köngen and later the neighboring castle and the castle estate and had the property rebuilt according to his needs, whereby he paid great attention to the gardens. Weishaar often hosted important personalities of the Württemberg culture and politics at his castle. His friends included the artists Philipp Friedrich Hetsch and Eberhard Wächter as well as the poet Gustav Schwab .
