Jakob Huwyler II. (Also: Jakob Huwiler II. , Born August 30, 1867 in Sursee ; † April 27, 1938 in Ruswil ) was a Swiss painter. He worked in Germany for a long time.

Life

Jakob Huwyler II was a son of the painter Jakob Huwyler I. He began his training at the arts and crafts school in Lucerne ; later a scholarship from his home canton enabled him to continue his studies with Friedrich Fehr and Schmid-Reuti in Munich . He created and restored frescoes in churches in Lower Franconia , Munich and the Allgäu . He created four large wall paintings on the four seasons in Wiggensbach . He left a representation of the Lord's Supper after Deschwanden in a chapel in Vollingen near the Treib .

In 1933 he moved from Munich to Ruswil. In the last years of his life he also created many paintings in churches in Switzerland, including in Grossdietwil , Grosswangen , Ruswil, Rüediswil and Sursee. In addition to frescoes, he also created portraits.

Jakob Huwyler's younger son Willy also became an artist.
