Jakob Seidel
Jakob Seidel (born June 23, 1546 in Ohlau in Silesia; † February 4, 1615 in Greifswald ) was a German doctor and university professor.
Jakob Seidel studied in Wittenberg and Heidelberg and practiced as a doctor in Vienna, Brno and Breslau from 1573. Two years later he received his doctorate in medicine in Basel . From 1576 Seidel practiced as a city doctor in Anklam until he was appointed professor of medicine in Greifswald in 1581 . Here he was elected rector four times.
Jakob Seidel was married to Katharina Zimdars. His daughter Dorothea had been married to the Greifswald law professor Matthias Stephani since 1611 .
Seidel died in 1615 at the age of 69.
