Jakob von Neuhaus

Jakob (baptized name: Heinrich Jacob) von Neuhaus (born April 30, 1853 in Krefeld , † December 1, 1921 in Naumburg ) was a Prussian district administrator.

Life

Origin and family

Jakob von Neuhaus was born as the son of the married couple Karl August von Neuhaus (dye works owner) and Maria Blasberg. He married Klara Luise Scheibler, daughter of Guido Scheibler (silk manufacturer) and Emilie Auguste Winnertz, in Bonn on February 8, 1881.

Professional background

After the leaving certificate at the secondary school of the first order in Krefeld he went as an apprentice in his father's business and studied at the Berlin from October 1872 to 1874 chemistry, physics and economics. After graduation in February 1875 at the High School Herford he studied at the University of Berlin for four semesters Jura , put on 28 June 1878, the exam for court clerk at the Court of Berlin with the result "properly" and was on 31 August 1878 as court clerk at the Court of Appeal Sworn in Cologne. He received his doctorate as Doctor iuris utriusque . On November 13, 1880, he was appointed government trainee lawyer at the Cologne district government, and on July 1, 1884, he was appointed court assessor after passing the exam with "good" . Shortly afterwards the transfer came to the Merseburg district government . The Hattingen district council unanimously renounced its right to make proposals on December 18, 1885 and asked for his appointment as district administrator, which then became final on February 22, 1886. He held the office of district administrator of the Hattingen district until July 22, 1892, when he was transferred to the Prussian Ministry of Commerce for municipal employment. Here, on November 18, 1892, he was appointed to the Secret Government and Lecturing Council. In 1900 he was appointed director of the Department of Commercial Education and Promotion. At his own request, he was dismissed from civil service in 1914 for health reasons. He did his military service as a “one-year volunteer” with the 2nd Guard Uhlan Regiment in Berlin and was a lieutenant in the reserve with the Rhenish Uhlan Regiment No. 7 .
