Jakob von Weber
Jakob Weber , later von Weber (born June 7, 1630 in Schwyz ; † August 9, 1697 ibid) was a Swiss doctor and politician .
Life
Weber came from the old Schwyz country people family Weber . He completed a medical degree at the University of Bologna . There he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD . Weber returned to his homeland, where he is said to have quickly developed into a popular doctor and citizen who took on his first political offices at a young age. From 1670 he was provincial governor and regular delegate to the parliament . In addition, he was Schwyzer Landammann from 1680 to 1682 and 1684 to 1686 and 1692 to 1694 .
Weber was sent to Turin in 1680 as an envoy of honor to renew the alliance between the Catholic towns and Savoy. He was also a member of the federal honorary delegation in 1681. who welcomed the French King Louis XIV in Ensisheim . In addition, he was probably the bearer of the Knight's Cross of the Order of St. Mauritius and Lazarus . Weber was in the equestrian charged .
Weber had a total of 15 children in two marriages, including the doctor and politician Franz Xaver von Weber , the Capuchin priest and apostolic prefect Apollinaris von Weber and the prince educator Dominik Benedikt von Weber .
