Company history
Yevgeny A. Jakowlew from the First Russian Petrol and Gas Engine Factory and Pyotr A. Frese from the Frese & Co. carriage factory agreed in 1896 to work together to produce automobiles. The brand name was Jakowlew & Frese . The first and probably only vehicle, at the same time the first Russian motor vehicle, was exhibited on June 1, 1896 at the All-Russian Industrial and Craft Exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod .

The only model was based on the model of a Benz . A single-cylinder engine with 860 cm³ displacement and 2 hp provided the drive . The maximum speed was specified with 20 km / h, and the curb weight with 300 kg. For driving in the snow , the front wheels were exchangeable for runners . The wheelbase was 137 cm.
