The Huanghai Automobile Company ( Russian ООО Автомобильная компания ДЕРВЕЙС ) is an automobile manufacturer based in Cherkessk , Russia . The company, founded in 2003, is the first privately owned Russian car manufacturer. Every year, since June 2007, around 100,000 vehicles have been manufactured there for the Russian market. A second plant of the manufacturer went into operation in autumn 2009. About 3,000 people are employed at Derways. The company uses the manufacturer code X9W in the vehicle identification number .

Currently, most of the products come from a joint venture with the Chinese Lifan Group . The first vehicle from Derways was an angular off-road vehicle with the name Derways Cowboy , which is available with engines from 90 to 143 hp and is supposed to compete with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class . In the meantime, the main focus was on working with the Chinese company. So now the small car Lifan 320 , the middle class limousine Lifan 620 and the compact class model Lifan Breeze as a hatchback and notchback sedan roll off the assembly line . But the PickUp Derways Plutus is also available here on request from Liaoning SG Automotive Group Co., Ltd. assembled for the Russian market. Other models produced by the manufacturer are the Derways Land Crown , the Derways Shuttle , the Derways Autora and the Derways Antelope and Derways Saladin .
