Jamal Blackman (born October 27, 1993 in London ) is an English football goalkeeper who is under contract with Chelsea .

Career

Jamal Blackman was a substitute goalkeeper at the 2009/10 FA Youth Cup . He was the regular goalkeeper for the U-18 team in the 2010/11 season. On August 4, 2010, he was for the first time in the squad of the first team in a friendly against FC Woking . Jamal Blackman came in close second in the election for "Youth Player of the year" (youth player of the year) 2010/11. He made his debut on the bench in the league game against Arsenal in the 2010/11 season, as Henrique Hilário and Ross Turnbull were eliminated. He was a regular goalkeeper in the FA Youth Cup in the 2011/12 season and was a key figure in winning the trophy. In January 2012, he was also part of the Champions League squad when Henrique Hilário was injured. Therefore, he also got a Champions League winner's medal.

He then trained with the goalkeepers of the professional team and was the U-21 regular goalkeeper for the 2012/13 season. He was also in the squad for the Euroleague victory this season and therefore got a winner's medal again.

The 2013-14 season started well after several appearances in the 1st team in the summer tours in the United States and Asia, but he spent most of the season on the sidelines. He returned to the U-21s in March and played an important role in their run to title wins. In the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup, he made two saves on penalties against Manchester City, helping Chelsea FC win.

The 2014/15 season began with a loan to Middlesbrough FC . However, he only played one game for Middlesbrough. He played in the League Cup against Liverpool FC , Middlesbrough made it to penalties where Jamal Blackman scored a personal success, he saved the penalty from Raheem Sterling . He returned to Chelsea in January but a lack of match practice prevented him from being the first goalkeeper for the Under-21s.

At the beginning of the 2015/16 season he switched to the Swedish club Östersunds FK and helped them get off to a good start into the season. In the middle of the season he returned to Chelsea. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Jamal Blackman was loaned to the Wycombe Wanderers .
