James Douglas Conley (born March 19, 1955 in Kansas City , Missouri , USA ) is Bishop of Lincoln .

Life

James Douglas Conley converted to the Roman Catholic Church on December 6, 1975 . He received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Wichita on May 18, 1985 .

On April 10, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . the titular bishop of Cissa and auxiliary bishop in Denver . The Archbishop of Denver, Charles Joseph Chaput OFMCap , donated him episcopal ordination on May 30 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Wichita, Michael Owen Jackels , and the Bishop of Salina , Paul Stagg Coakley . James Douglas Conley was also the Apostolic Administrator of Denver from September 8, 2011 to July 18, 2012 . On September 14, 2012 Benedict XVI called him. to the Bishop of Lincoln. The ceremonial inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on November 20 of the same year.

After he was diagnosed with severe depression, he asked for temporary relief from his duties. Pope Francis appointed Archbishop of Omaha , George Joseph Lucas , to be Apostolic Administrator of Lincoln on December 13, 2019 for the duration of his illness-related absence.
