Paul Stagg Coakley (born June 3, 1955 in Norfolk ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Oklahoma City .

Life

The Bishop of Wichita , David Monas Maloney , ordained him a deacon on April 8, 1982, and the Bishop of Wichita , Eugene John Gerber , ordained him a priest on May 21, 1983 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Salina on October 21, 2004 .

The Archbishop of Kansas City in Kansas , James Patrick Keleher , donated him episcopal ordination on December 28 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Eugene John Gerber , Bishop Emeritus of Wichita, and George Kinzie Fitzsimons , Former Bishop of Salina. As a motto he chose Duc in Altum .

He was named Archbishop of Oklahoma City on December 16, 2010 and inducted into office on February 11 of the next year.
