James Joseph Komba

James Joseph Komba (* May 1922 in Lituhi , Tanganyika ; † February 1, 1992 ) was a Tanzanian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Songea .

Life

James Joseph Komba received on 15 July 1954, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 22, 1961, Pope John XXIII appointed him . to titular bishop of Thignica and auxiliary bishop in Peramiho . The Apostolic Delegate for the British Territories in East and West Africa, Archbishop Guido del Mestri , donated him episcopal ordination on May 3, 1962 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Mbeya , Antoon van Oorschoot MAfr , and the Abbot Bishop of Peramiho, Eberhard Spieß OSB .

Komba attended the first, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council . On February 6, 1969, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Songea. James Joseph Komba became the first Archbishop of Songea on November 18, 1987 as a result of the elevation of the Diocese of Songea.
