Norbert Wendelin Mtega (born August 17, 1945 in Kinyika , Tanzania ) is retired Archbishop of Songea .

Life

Norbert Wendelin Mtega received on 14 November 1973, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On October 28, 1985 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the Bishop of Iringa . Pope John Paul II donated him episcopal ordination on January 6, 1986 ; Co- consecrators were Cardinal Agostino Cardinal Casaroli , Secretary of State , and the Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Cardinal Bernardin Gantin .

On July 6, 1992, John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Songea . On May 15, 2013, Pope Francis accepted his early resignation.
