James Hoban Sands (born July 6, 2000 in Rye , New York ) is an American football player .

Career

society

Sands played in the youth of New York City FC until 2017 . In June 2017, he received a professional contract and became the New Yorkers' first homegrown player . He made his MLS debut in September 2017 when he came on as a substitute for Andrea Pirlo in the 67th minute against the Colorado Rapids on matchday 29 of the 2017 season . This was his only season use.

In August 2018 he was awarded to Louisville City FC in the USL . For Louisville he played three games in the USL, and in the 2018 season he made three appearances in the MLS for New York.

National team

Sands played for the US U-17 team from 2015 . With this he also took part in the World Cup in 2017 . With the USA he reached the quarter-finals, where they failed to England . Sands was used over the full distance in all five American games during the tournament.

From 2018 he played for the U-19 team .
