Anton Lars Tinnerholm (born February 26, 1991 in Linköping ) is a Swedish football player . The defender made his debut in Swedish professional football in 2009, where he played at Malmö FF until the end of the 2017 season. He has been under contract with New York City FC in the American Major League Soccer since January 2018 .

Career

Tinnerholm started playing football at Brokinds IF . He came to Åtvidabergs FF at the beginning of 2008 through IK Östria Lambohov , where he had his first practice in the adult sector in the 2007 season . For the club he made his debut during the second division season in 2009 in the Superettan . At times he won a regular place and contributed in twelve league games to the rise of the club in the Allsvenskan . Together with his teammate Haris Radetinać , shortly before the start of the season in March of the following year, he extended his contract until the end of 2011. In the Swedish elite series, however, he hardly got a chance after a serious pneumonia and was therefore only able to fight relegation - ultimately unsuccessful help to a limited extent. In the second division season 2011 he established himself under coach Andreas Thomsson at the side of Daniel Hallingström , Erik Moberg - due to an injury temporarily represented by the Brazilian Álberis da Silva - and Jesper Arvidsson as a regular on the defensive and stood in 25 of his 28 season appearances when he was promoted again in the starting line-up. As a result, the club had already extended the contract that expired at the end of the season to 2013 in August. In the following seasons he was also under Thomsson's successor Peter Swärdh one of the guarantees that the team held in the Allsvenskan. In the summer of 2013, the club again extended the year-end contract - this time until the end of 2014.

In July 2014, Tinnerholm moved within Allsvenskan to the reigning champions Malmö FF , where he was supposed to close the gap in the full-back position that had arisen after the departure of Miiko Albornoz and Mahmut Özen and signed a contract valid until the end of 2017. With the team around Markus Rosenberg , Ricardinho , Robin Olsen and Markus Halsti , he qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club's history a few weeks after his arrival .

In December 2014, national coach Erik Hamrén nominated Tinnerholm as one of nine newcomers to the Swedish national team , which will tour the Middle East in January 2015 .
