Sean Everet Johnson (born May 31, 1989 in Lilburn ) is an American football goalkeeper .
Personal
Born and raised in Lilburn , Johnson attended Snellville High School . In 2007 he began studying at the University of Central Florida in Orlando , which he dropped out the following year. In addition to the US passport, he also has the nationality of Jamaica, from which his parents come.
Career
societies
In 2009, Johnson played six games for the Atlanta Blackhawks in the USL Premier Development League .
After the MLS Super Draft by Chicago Fire was elected, he went in 2010 in his first season in Major League Soccer . After he was initially still a substitute for Andrew Dykstra , he made his debut in a league game on August 8, 2010, when the team came to a 3-2 win over Los Angeles . By the end of the season Johnson had played 13 games in the MLS.
Since then, Johnson has been the clear number 1 goal for the Chicagoans and has played at least 28 games each season. His annual salary is US $ 250,000 (as of April 2014).
National team
Johnson, who has also trained with Jamaican youth selection teams in the past, ultimately opted for a career in the US national team.
With the U-20 national team , he was a substitute player at the World Cup in Egypt in 2009 . The tournament ended for the team after the group stage. In the same year he was also part of the US squad at the CONCACAF tournament of the same age group in Trinidad and Tobago. The team from Costa Rica failed in the final .
In spring 2012 he was with the U-23 national team in the qualifying games for the 2012 Olympic Games . It was used once; the entry into the main round was missed.
On January 22, 2011 he made his debut in a friendly against Chile in the senior national team. For the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2013 he was appointed to the 23-man squad by national coach Jürgen Klinsmann . On July 16, he played his only game in the tournament in a 1-0 win against Costa Rica . As a substitute for Nick Rimando , he experienced the title win on July 28th after a 1-0 win against Panama . For the 2014 World Cup in Brazil he was not considered by Klinsmann because Tim Howard and Brad Guzan - who play in the Premier League - were available again.
