James Singleton 2010

James Singleton (born October 8, 1955 in Wilmington , Delaware ) is an American musician (bass), composer and music producer of modern jazz .

Live and act

Singleton has worked in the New Orleans music scene since 1977 , a. a. with James Booker , Professor Longhair , Johnny Vidacovich , Aaron Neville , Joe Henderson , Milt Jackson , Eddie Harris , Clark Terry , Lightnin 'Hopkins , Gatemouth Brown , John Scofield, and the Marsalis Family ; Overall, he participated in 73 recording sessions from 1981 to 2010, and in the early 1990s he played in Tony Dagradi's trio and in the Astral Project , whose album Elvado he produced. In 1995 he founded the formation 3NOW4 with guitarist Dave Easley ; 2005 the James Singleton String Quartet . After Hurricane Katrina , he moved to Los Angeles to return to New Orleans in 2008.
