Jamt is a five-piece German pop-rock band from Frankfurt am Main . The band was founded in 2007 and released their first album Hier und Jetzt on February 8, 2011. The band's repertoire consists exclusively of German-language, self-composed songs.

Band history

In autumn 2007, four of the current band members formed the band. In the beginning they covered old rock classics. The name of the band developed from a preference for jamming (in German "improvising"). The idea for the name "Jamt" came from the attempt to combine the initials of the names of the founding members in one word. The band worked on their style and wrote their first own songs with German lyrics. The band then took part in the international newcomer band contest Emergenza in the 2009/10 season .

During rehearsals in Mallorca in 2009 , the first demo CD was recorded in a studio and initial contact with the professional music industry was established. The demo material consisted of five selected songs. In 2010 Jamt was able to sign a record deal with 3WO Records / WoF Records.

Debut album here and now

In the second half of 2010 the band worked on their debut album, which was released in Austria in the spring of 2011 under the title Hier und Jetzt . The album was produced in studios in Los Angeles , Mallorca , London and with the support of various guest musicians such as Mark Schulman and Eva Gardner (Pink) or Don Boyette (Michael Jackson). The album already achieved the Austrian gold status of 10,000 records sold through pre-orders . It was then awarded on October 11, 2011 in Mallorca in the television program X-Diaries . For the promotion of the album here and now the band in the Vienna gave several concerts on a show truck . This action was sponsored by the Austrian youth magazine Xpress in connection with an anti-drug campaign.

A video was made for the first single So much more on a limited budget. In April 2011 the video for the second single Nothing, Without You , was released, produced by the director Dirk Hilger. Both music videos were filmed in Mallorca. Furthermore, a video was made on their own for the unplugged version of the song Brauch dich nicht .

Television appearances

Since the summer of 2011, the band has been regularly booked for various television appearances. So they played in Mallorca at Wetten, dass ..? and at Ballermann Hits 2011. In Germany they played in the following shows:
