Jan-Werner Müller (* 1970 in Bad Honnef ) is a German political scientist and professor at Princeton University .

Life

He studied at the University of Berlin , University College London, at St Antony's College of Oxford University and at Princeton University . From 1996 to 2003 he was a Fellow at All Souls College , Oxford, and from 2003 to 2005 a Fellow at the European Studies Center at St Antony's College. Since 2005 he has been teaching political theory and the history of ideas at Princeton .

Müller was visiting scholar at the Collegium Budapest Institute of Advanced Study, the Remarque Institute at NYU, the Center for European Studies at Harvard University and the Robert Schuman Center for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute in Florence. As a visiting professor, he taught in Paris at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales and at the Institut d'études politiques .

Müller is co-founder of the European College of Liberal Arts (ECLA), Berlin.
