Jan Oliver Bühlmann (born August 11, 1987 in Buchrain ) is a Swiss musician . He was Mister Switzerland of the Year 2010. He has been performing as a musician since spring 2013 under his stage name Jan Oliver .

Life

Bühlmann comes from the canton of Lucerne . He first attended secondary school . He started playing the piano at the age of eight. At the age of 14 he attended piano lessons at the Lucerne Conservatory alongside school. He later switched to high school, which he successfully completed with the Matura . He completed a classical vocal training and wanted to become a classical pianist , opera singer or actor at times .

Mister Switzerland 2010

Bühlmann was elected Mister Switzerland on May 8, 2010 in the Arena Genève in Geneva . The election was broadcast live by the broadcasters SF 1 , TSR 1 and RSI 1 . 850,000 spectators watched the election.

Immediately after his election, Bühlmann received several engagements as a model , for example in May 2010 he modeled on the catwalk for men's fashion at the Energy Fashion Night in Zurich . Shortly thereafter, he made commercials for the underwear brand Sloggi .

After almost three months in office, Jan Bühlmann was able to show more than 80 customer bookings and play a guest role in the film Your Life by director Sebastian Goder . It appeared on the cover of Schweizer Illustrierte (issue of May 10, 2010), Glückspost (issue of May 19, 2010) and of 20 Minuten Friday with the cover story (issue of July 2, 2010). Lucerne Tourism selected Jan Bühlmann as ambassador for various activities. On August 1, 2010, at the traditional celebration on the Rütli , Bühlmann read the Federal Letter in several languages ​​and, as the first Mister Switzerland, gave a well-received speech in front of 1200 spectators. Bühlmann made his television debut as a pianist on August 26, 2010 on the occasion of the final of the Elite Model Look Swiss. In February 2011 Jan Bühlmann planned to perform as a swing musician and to go on tour.

Musician career as Jan Oliver

In retrospect, Bühlmann described his year as the “most beautiful Swiss” as “just a stopover”. After that year he took a break and then returned to his interest in music. His debut album “Great Escape” was released on June 21, 2013 .
