Jan Fries (State Councilor)

Jan Fries (* 1981 ) is a German economist , Bremen State Councilor ( Greens ) and representative of the Senator for Social Affairs, Youth, Integration and Sport Anja Stahmann (Greens).

biography

Fries attended the Horn high school in Bremen - Horn-Lehe from 1991 to 2000 . He then studied economics at the University of Bremen until 2005 and graduated with a diploma . He was active in educational policy on the university's student council.

After graduating, he worked in the Senate Chancellery of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen , most recently until 2009 as head of the finance department. From 2009 to 2015 he was head of department for supraregional financial relations, EU affairs at the finance senator Karoline Linnert (Greens). Among other things, he was responsible for Bremen's contacts with the Stability Council in Berlin. In July 2015 he was appointed as the successor to Horst Frehe (Greens) as State Councilor and representative of the Senator for Social Affairs, Youth and Women Anja Stahmann (Greens).

Memberships

Fries has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1997 . He was u. a. since 2003 treasurer of the party in Bremen.

As a state councilor, he is a member of the supervisory bodies of the Bremer Bädergesellschaft and Immobilien Bremen .
