Jan Hille

Jan Hille (born October 1978 in Großburgwedel ) is a German film editor .

Life

After various internships, Jan Hille completed an apprenticeship as a media designer for image & sound at QFilmproduktion in Hamburg until 2007 . There he went through all stages of film production (PA to directing) and post-production (editing, compositing, grading) in around 200 music video and live DVD productions for artists such as: Depeche Mode , Motörhead , Die Ärzte , Sportfreunde Stiller .

Since 2008 he has been working as a freelance film editor in the field of advertising, music videos and short films. Since 2016 he has mainly been working on series formats and feature films.

For the film editing of the first season of the series 4 Blocks , directed by Marvin Kren , he and his colleague Lars Jordan won the German TV Prize in 2018 and in the same year was nominated for the German Camera Prize in the “Best Editing” category.

Hille's career was particularly shaped by the collaboration with the Austrian director Marvin Kren , with whom he worked on various commercials, a short film and the series 4 Blocks and Freud . Both series ran at the Berlinale , with Freud opening the Berlinale Series 2020 at the Berlin Zoo Palast .

Jan Hille is a member of the Federal Association of Film Editing Editor eV (BFS)
