Johannes Hendrikus "Jan" Jansen (born February 26, 1945 in Basdorf , Germany ) is a former Dutch track cyclist .

In 1964 Jan Jansen was the Dutch junior sprint champion , and the following year he won the amateur title . In 1968, 1970 and 1971 he was national champion in tandem races , in 1968 together with Leijn Loevesijn , in 1970 and 1971 with Peter van Doorn .

In 1968 Jansen started together with Loevesijn at the Summer Olympics in Mexico . The duo won the silver medal on the tandem, in the sprint it was eliminated in the quarter-finals against the eventual winner of the silver medal, the Italian Giordano Turrini . His brother Harrie finished 24th in the road race . In 1967 he received a penalty from the Dutch Association for the use of doping substances and was removed from the list for the UCI Track World Championship .

After finishing his cycling career, Jan Jansen trained as a dental technician and still runs his own laboratory in Heiloo today (as of 2014) .

Jan Jansen should not be confused with the winner of the 1968 Tour de France , Jan Janssen .
