Jan Lerch

Jan Lerch (* 1966 in Munich ) is a German television presenter , journalist and media manager.

Life

Lerch, born in Munich, grew up in Hanover. His father was a Turkish doctoral student at the University of Hanover who had to return to Turkey before his son was born . Jan Lerch later took the family name of his stepfather. After studying German language and literature , he began his career in 1991 as a reporter, presenter and editor-in-chief at what was then SFB (today's rbb television ). Here he moderated u. a. for the RBB inforadio and for the TV formats Berliner Platz , Berlin life and the late evening news .

Lerch became popular as the presenter of the main rbb news program - the Berliner Abendschau , which he presented from 1999 to the end of 2004. After he founded the internal initiative rbb-pro with the station's freelancers in 2003 , he fell out of favor with the management. The television editor-in-chief Petra Lidschreiber accused him of being disloyal and of having talked badly about the rbb to third parties. His contract was not renewed, so he left rbb television at the turn of the year 2004/05.

Jan Lerch then became a presenter and editor for the journal of Deutsche Welle TV in 2005 . From 2006 to 2008 he was editor-in-chief at the Berlin radio station Motor FM , where he also presented reports and conducted interviews (nominated as radio journalist of the year 2007). Since June 2008 he has been the office manager of Probono television production in Berlin, where he a. a. Responsible for the n-tv programs Das Duell , Busch @ n-tv , Heiner Bremer - Unter den Linden . In 2009 he was the project manager of the initiative Geh nicht hin in the run-up to the 2009 federal election (nominated for the 2009 Political Award). In 2011 he switched to the editorial management of Focus TV , where he a. a. the political talk "one against one" with built up. Afterwards he was "Director of Editorial & Broadcast" at the internet start-up tape.tv and was responsible as program manager a. a. Cooperation projects with ZDFKultur, ARD EinsPlus, Spiegel Online and bild.de.

Lerch is currently responsible for various moving image projects. In 2015 he created the six-part interactive documentary series “Go_Geek!” For ARD / EinsPlus about four Berlin startup programmers (director, author, production). The timeline comment on “Go_Geek!” In the specially programmed player was funded as a technical innovation by the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. For UFA fiction he was project manager for the 75 episode online project “Behind the Story” (2015).

He lives in Berlin and is the father of two daughters.
