Jan Lundell (born November 26, 1973 in Helsinki ) is a former Finnish ice hockey goalkeeper . Since the end of his active career in 2012 he has been under contract with HIFK Helsinki from the Liiga as a goalkeeping coach .

Career

Jan Lundell began his career as an ice hockey player in PiTa's youth department , where he was active until 1993. Then the goalkeeper played for two years for the professional team of Karhu-Kissat in the I-divisioona , the second Finnish division, in which he played in the 1995/96 season for the professional team of his former club PiTa. He spent the 1996/97 season at HIFK Helsinki in the SM-liiga . There he began the following season before he moved to TPS Turku within the Finnish top division during the season . He spent the 1998/99 season at HIFK Helsinki in the SM-liiga and Kärpät Oulu in the I-divisioona. He started the 1999/2000 season at Frölunda HC in the Swedish Elitserien . In the further course of the season he stood for the Pelicans Lahti in the SM-liiga and the Augsburger Panther in the German Ice Hockey League between the posts.

In the 2000/01 season Lundell ran for HPK Hämeenlinna and Ässät Pori in the SM-liiga before he spent the following season at Lukko Rauma . There he came as a substitute goalkeeper but only to a single use, which is why he moved to the Rødovre Mighty Bulls from the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen for the 2002/03 season. From 2003 to 2008 he played for his ex-club HIFK Helsinki in the SM-liiga, before he was on the ice in the 2008/09 season at KLH Chomutov in the first division , the second Czech division. For the 2009/10 season he was once again committed to his home club HIFK Helsinki, with whom he won the Finnish championship title in the 2010/11 season .
