Johan "Jan" Mulder (born May 4, 1945 in Bellingwolde , Groningen province ) is a former Dutch national soccer player, columnist, author and television commentator.

Mulder grew up in Winschoten, Netherlands . From 1965 to 1972 the striker played for the Belgian first division club RSC Anderlecht and scored 91 goals in 145 league games. In the 1966/67 season he was the top scorer in the league with 20 goals. In 1972 Mulder moved to Ajax Amsterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie for three years . In 56 games he scored 16 times. He played five times for the Dutch national team and scored one goal.

As a columnist he wrote for the Dutch weekly magazines De Tijd and Elsevier, among others . He also wrote a column in the newspaper de Volkskrant together with the writer Remco Campert . Together with Campert he made theater tours with literary programs. ("De Teen" (1993) and "Herinneringen" (1995)). Until May 2006, Mulder was a permanent guest on the discussion program Barend & Van Dorp , which was first broadcast on RTL 4 and later on Talpa .

Mulder is the father of former soccer player and sports commentator Youri Mulder .
