Jan Rozkošný (born October 19, 1855 in Křenovice , † March 27, 1947 in Brno ) was a Moravian farmer, economist and politician.

Life

The son of a farmer attended the business school in Přerov from 1869 . From 1873 Rozkošný managed the Křenovice estate. In 1882 he was elected mayor of Křenovice. In 1886 Rozkošný moved into the Moravian Landtag as a representative of the Old Czechs in the Prerau-Kojetein constituency and the following year also in the Imperial Council . From 1887 Rozkošný organized agricultural courses in Křenovice, where he also taught. In 1894 he was one of the founders of the artificial fertilizer and chemicals factory in Prerau . In 1905 he was the initiator of the establishment of an alumni association of the agricultural school in Bohunice and became its patron. In 1910 he was a co-founder of the rural sugar factory Němčice nad Hanou and the rural share machine factory E. Kokora in Prerau. After the establishment of Czechoslovakia, Rozkošný worked for the Agrarian Party between 1920 and 1935 in the National Assembly as a senator. On March 6, 1926, the Brno University of Technology awarded him an honorary doctorate for his services .

Rozkošný was chairman of the Central Agricultural Council in Moravia, the Association of Agricultural Cooperatives in the Czech Republic, the Czech Agricultural Community in Moravia and the Agricultural Associations Přerov and Kojetín .
