Janet Elizabeth "Jane" Goldman (born September 16, 1964 in Skokie , Illinois ) is a former American speed skater .

Goldman competed for the US team in speed skating between 1983 and 1988. At the Junior World Championships in Sarajevo in 1983 , she finished 13th in the all-around competition. A year later she entered the all- around world championship in Deventer and reached 18th place in the small four-way competition . She qualified for the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo and competed over 1500 and 3000 meters. On these routes she finished 17th and 12th. Also in Sarajevo, Goldman reached 23rd place at the 1985 All-Around World Cup . Her best World Cup result was a fourth place in 1987 over 3000 meters in Lake Placid . In their final season, Goldman again took part in the Winter Olympics in Calgary . There she reached positions 18 over 1500 meters, 11 over 3000 meters and 10 over 5000 meters. At the subsequent World Championships in Skien , she finished 20th in the all-around competition.

Goldman visited the MIT in Cambridge , Massachusetts and the medical faculty of the University of California in San Francisco , California . She completed the latter as a doctorate in 1993 . She completed her specialist training in obstetrics and gynecology in Milwaukee , Wisconsin . Goldman then settled in Mequon , Wisconsin.
