Janek Tombak (born July 22, 1976 in Põltsamaa , Estonian SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Estonian cyclist .

Tombak had been a professional cyclist since 1999 . From 1999 to 2005 he drove for the French team Cofidis - Le Crédit par Téléphone . At the beginning of the 2006 season he rode for the Estonian Kalev Chocolate Team , from June 1, 2006 for the Belgian cycling team Jartazi-7Mobile . He took part in the Tour de France twice. In 2000 and 2004 he started at the Olympic Games; In 2004 in Athens he finished 58th in the road race .

At the end of the 2009 season he ended his career as a professional cyclist. In 2012 he made his comeback.

successes

Janek Tombak was the Estonian street champion in 2001 and 2003. In 2005 he won the overall ranking of the Tour de Picadie in France. Further successes included stage wins in the Hesse Tour , the Tour of Poland and the Tour of Denmark .
