Janet Marie Jones (born January 10, 1961 in Bridgeton , Missouri ) is an American actress .

life and career

Janet Jones was born in Bridgeton, Missouri in 1961. In 1984 she met the Canadian ice hockey player Wayne Gretzky on the television show Dance Fever know. After the first public rendez-vous, the wedding ceremony took place in Edmonton in July 1988, which was followed by great media interest . The two are parents of five children (three sons, two daughters). Jones' eldest daughter Paulina (* 1988) works as a model and pop singer and has appeared in several films as an actress.

Jones initially appeared as a dancer in films such as Staying Alive , as well as in the television show Dance Fever . This was followed by roles as policewoman Kate in Police Academy 5 - Assignment Miami Beach (1988) or as a pitcher in the baseball comedy A Class of Their Own (1992) alongside Geena Davis , Madonna and Tom Hanks . Jones made a guest appearance on the short-lived television series The Shadow Warriors in 1997 . In 2006 she starred as Elaine Holden in Alpha Dog and as Sherry in Two Tickets to Paradise .
