Janet Wright (* 6. August 1953 in Los Angeles as Janet Newberry ) is a former American tennis player .

Career

Janet Wright won two singles and two doubles titles on the WTA Tour . In 1973 she was in the mixed final of Wimbledon, which she lost at the side of Raúl Ramírez against Billie Jean King / Owen Davidson with 3: 6 and 2: 6. In 1975 and 1977 she reached the semi-finals of the French Open.

In 1975 she made four appearances on the United States Fed Cup team , three of which she won.

Personal

Janet married Frank Wright. Frank Wright died in 1991, after which Ralph Howe married.
