history

In 1926 Jakob Schwaderlapp founded the company in Baumbach to produce jugs and pottery. The name of the founder and the production site gave the company its name. Initially the focus was on decorative and vessel ceramics. The manufacture of glazed mosaics began at the end of the 1950s, after the founder's eldest son suggested expanding the range of goods .

In 1964, Jasba Mosaik GmbH became an independent company and acquired 100,000 m² of land at its new headquarters in Ötzingen . The sister company Jasba Keramik continued to produce decorative ceramics at the traditional location in Baumbach. 1980 Jasba Mosaik GmbH took over Jasba Keramik. Since then, only stove tiles and tiled fireplaces have been manufactured in Baumbach . In 1984 Jasba first exported tiles to the United States .

In 1994 sales were DM 93 million . At the end of 1998, Jasba in Ötzingen commissioned what was then the most modern kiln for mosaics in Germany, a roller kiln and dryer with a total length of 62 meters. This investment at a cost of 200,000 DM replaced a 30-year-old sledge furnace.

In May 1999, Deutsche Steinzeug Cremer & Breuer bought the company with retroactive effect from January 1st. At the time of this takeover, Jasba had 520 employees, the previous year's turnover was 68 million DM. In the year of the takeover the turnover was 75 million DM. Deutsche Steinzeug then invested 14 million DM in the modernization of the production lines in Ötzingen. In 2004, Deutsche Steinzeug parted ways with the Baumbach site with its production of stove tiles and tiled chimneys.

At the end of 2013, Deutsche Steinzeug transferred the Ötzingen production facility to Jasba Mosaik GmbH .

At the end of 2017, Deutsche Steinzeug merged the sales organizations of Jasba and Agrob Buchtal ( spelling : AGROB BUCHTAL ). In addition, with effect from January 1, 2018, operations were transferred from Jasba Mosaik GmbH to Deutsche Steinzeug Cremer & Breuer AG.
