Jasmin Graf (* 1986 in Leipzig ) is a German pop and jazz singer who became known through the casting show The Voice of Germany .

biography

Jasmin Graf is the daughter of Hans Graf, the guitarist of the rock band Karussell . Her mother is also a singer. She started playing the piano at the age of five, sang in a rock band at 16 and later performed throughout Germany with the Köstritzer Jazz Band . After finishing school, she started studying singing at the Leipzig University of Music . She also works as a studio musician and performs with several bands. Among other things, she sings for the Leipzig DJ Rockstroh and provided the vocals for his biggest hit dance .

In 2011 she applied for the new talent show format The Voice of Germany and was elected to Rea Garvey 's team. With German-language pop songs, she sang her way through the first three live shows to the semi-finals. With her contributions she was able to place herself in the German charts through sales in the internet download shops. In the third live show, she was surprisingly preferred by her coach to competitor Percival Duke , who had been the audience favorite in the group until then. Garvey justified this with the singer's "dormant potential".
