Jason Young (born March 21, 1991 ) is a Jamaican sprinter .

Young won silver at the Summer Universiade 2011 in Shenzhen with 20.59 seconds over 200 meters. The following year he achieved his international breakthrough. In July, at the top meeting in Lucerne, he first ran 10.06 s over 100 meters and later 19.86 s over 200 meters, not only defeating Warren Weir , but also running the sixth fastest time of the year. Due to the sudden attention he was able to take part in the coveted Diamond League meetings in Lausanne , Zurich and finally in Brussels , where he underlined his status as one of the greatest 200 meter talents with 19.92 seconds.

In 2013 he started in Kingston with 10.21 s over 100 meters. The same time was measured in his next race, the meeting in Doha . However, he didn't get onto a podium until May 18 in his 200-meter run in Shanghai . There he came in third place behind Weir and Gatlin with 20.22 seconds . He finished the same on June 1st in Eugene , this time in 20.20 seconds behind Ashmeade and Dix . At the Jamaican championships he missed a participation in the World Cup in Moscow as fifth in the 200 meter final . With Lausanne and Paris, further Diamond League participations followed in July . After 20.07 seconds in Budapest, it ran under 20 seconds for the first time of the year on July 17th. At the top meeting in Lucerne, where he had run his best performance with 19.86 seconds last year, he won in 19.98 seconds.
