Jaspar von Oer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jaspar von Oer (also Caspar von Oer ) († after 1518 ) was Landdrost of the Duchy of Westphalia .

family

He came from the noble von Oer family . His father was Ludolf von Oer. He was married to Anna von Hörde . Their daughter Anna married Wilhelm von Nesselrode in 1480.

Life

The father divided his property between the sons Jaspar and Balthasar. Jaspar became the owner of Haus Geist . The brothers reached a settlement in 1472, in which Jaspar is confirmed in possession of Haus Geist. As a fiefdom of the Electorate of Cologne , he got the farm at Körne near Dortmund in 1478 . In 1497 he made an alliance with the city of Münster with Heidenreich von Oer, Everwin Graf von Bentheim and Goddert von Ketteler .

In 1491 he and his wife donated the eight meter high sacrament house in the church of St. Johannes in Oelde . In 1494 he was appointed to the Princely Münster Council. He was also the councilor of the Electorate of Cologne.

From about 1495/96 he was Landdrost of the Duchy of Westphalia. There is a problem with this dating because Johann Suibert Seibertz states in his document book that the Landdrost Jaspar von Oer was instrumental in bringing about the move of the nuns to the Galilee Monastery as early as 1484 . As Landdrost he was deputy of the Cologne Elector in the Duchy of Westphalia. At the same time he was the top representative of the estates .

In 1499 he acquired several pledged fiefdoms. Among them was the Honkamp von Belecke , a castle loan in Warstein , the tithe and fishing rights from Belecke. In 1500 he took part in a voyage court of the Oberfreistuhl in Arnsberg , where a citizen from Wesel was convicted because he had acted against his free- judge oath. He was mentioned in 1505 as part of the elector's entourage at the Reichstag in Cologne .

In 1505 he allowed the city of Olpe to levy a toll. In 1508, after the death of Hermann IV, he was involved in the renewal of the Hereditary Land Association for the preservation of the estate rights against the abuse of princely power.

He held office for about 22 years until 1518. He was Landdrost under the Archbishops Hermann IV. , Philipp II. And Hermann V.
