Jasper André Friedrich

Jasper André Friedrich , also Jasper A. Friedrich , (born May 7, 1965 in Leipzig ) is a German communication and media scientist and journalist . He has a PhD in social sciences and philosophy .

Life

Jasper André Friedrich attended the POS in Leipzig from 1971 to 1981 and then trained as a construction carpenter. After graduating from high school in Meißen in 1992 , he studied communication and media studies and philosophy at the University of Leipzig and in 1996 ten months of philosophy at the University of Bologna ( Italy ). From 2003 to 2007 Friedrich was a doctoral candidate for communication and media studies at the University of Leipzig.

Jasper André Friedrich is married, has one child and lives in Leipzig.

Career

Friedrich was a freelance journalist for various newspapers and magazines. In 1987 he founded the first East German music fanzine for independent and punk music "Messitsch" in Leipzig with Raban Ruddigkeit and Jan Hohmann . With interruptions he worked in the broadcast preparation of MDR Info and as an editor for various productions of VOX , ZDF , Geo TV . In 2007 he founded the Leipzig market research and consulting company Comstrat and was its managing director until 2012.

After studying philosophy and communication and media studies in Leipzig and Bologna, Friedrich worked, among other things, as a research assistant at the TU Ilmenau , the University of Bern , as a university lecturer representing professorships at the HTWK Leipzig and the University of Leipzig . He was then appointed professor for journalism and corporate communication at the Berlin University for Media, Communication and Science HMKW . Since 2017 he holds the chair for public communication at the University of Hanover .

Research priorities

His main research interests are communication science , communication philosophy , trend research , digitization and everyday life , media and education , gender and media , media sports.
