Jaxson Ryker (born June 6, 1982 in Hickory , North Carolina ) is an American wrestler . He is currently under contract with the WWE and appears regularly on their show SmackDown .
Wrestling career
Free Agent (2001-2010)
After serving as a machine gunner in the Iraq War with the United States Marine Corps and attaining the rank of Lance Corporal, Lail signed with NWA Anarchy under the ring name Phil Shatter. Shatter eventually got a title shot against NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Champion Ace Rocwell, which he won.
Shatter later won the NWA National Heavyweight Championship from Crusher Hansen on January 17, 2009 and is the longest reigning champion in title history. Shatter was stripped of the title after signing a deal with Impact Wrestling.
In October 2010, Shatter defeated Chase Stevens, for the SAW International Heavyweight Championship. However, he had to give up the title in June 2011 because he could no longer defend it due to his work at TNA.
Impact Wrestling (2010-2015)
On June 23, 2010 he made his debut with TNA. He started feuds with Jeff Hardy , Samoa Joe and Mr. Anderson . On March 14, 2011, he won the TNA Television Championship . However, he lost the title after a reign of 65 days on May 17, 2011 to Eric Young . After a contract extension he formed a tag team with James Storm . On June 2, 2013, they won the TNA World Tag Team Championship . This reign of 140 days and lost the title finally on October 20, 2013 Jessie Godderz and Robbie E . After losing the title, he occasionally took part in various tournaments, some of which he also won. He left the company on June 19, 2015.
World Wrestling Entertainment (since 2017)
On May 29, 2017, it was announced that he had signed with WWE and will henceforth work for NXT . He made his debut at an NXT live event on June 29, 2017, losing to No Way Jose . He spent the rest of 2017 solely on TV shows. In February 2018 he began working with Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler as The Forgotten Sons. Together, the trio performed at the Dusty Rhodes Classic 2019 and made it to the finals. However, they lost there against Aleister Black and Ricochet .
On April 10, 2020, the trio debuted on SmackDown , defeating The Lucha House Party. After a negative Twitter post, they were posted from the shows.
