Jazz Improvise Meeting Festival

The Jazz Improvise Meeting Festival (JIM Festival) is a festival for jazz and new improvisation music that has been taking place in the People's Republic of China since 2012 .

The German-Chinese Jazz Improvise Meeting Festival took place for the first time in October 2012 in the cities of Shanghai , Beijing , Shenyang and Shenzhen .

The focus of the second “German-Chinese Jazz Improvisation Meeting (JIM)” was on the Berlin jazz scene. The festival, supported by the Goethe-Institut China, the Federal Foreign Office and the City of Berlin , was curated by Constanze Schliebs in 2012 and 2013; in 2013, Dickson Dee was co-curator on the Chinese side. During the two years Peter Brötzmann , Gebhard Ullmann , Alexander von Schlippenbach , Aki Takase , Alfred Harth , Kalle Kalima , Michael Wertmüller , Marino Pliakas , Rolf Sudmann and Michael Schiefel performed . On the Chinese side were Li Chin Sung, Yan Jun, Li Tieqiao, Juny Ciao, Tao Yi. u. a. represented, furthermore Rudi Mahall , Axel Dörner , Kazuhisa Uchihashi and Silke Eberhard .

In 2015, The Necks, Julia Hülsmann performed with Robert Landfermann and Heinrich Köbberling , Michael Jaeger Kerouac (CH) and Thomas Borgmann Boom Box with Akira Andō and Willi Kellers . Concerts and workshops took place in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xiamen and Lanzhou.
