The Ještědský potok (German Jeschkenbach ) is a right tributary of the Ploučnice in the Czech Republic .

The Ještědský potok rises on the northwest slope of the Ještěd ( Jeschken , 1012 m) in the Jeschken Mountains . Its sources are located south of the Výpřež ( capercaillie saddle , 769 m) on both sides of the Kamenná vrata ( Thorstein ) in the Terasy Jeśtédu nature reserve ( Jeschkenterrassen ); at the upper end of Křižany both source streams join. The Ještědský potok flows to the west on the upper reaches of the Ralská pahorkatina ( Rollberg hill country ) belonging Podještědská pahorkatina, in its valley extend the elongated forest hoof villages Křižany and Žibřidice. The Malý Ještěd ( Moiselkoppe , 754 m), the Lom ( Scheuflerkoppe , 682 m), the Krkavčí skály ( Rabsteine , 472 m), the Táhlý vrch ( Lodeberg , 462 m), the Buková ( Buchberg , 468 m) rise north of the valley m) and the Stříbrný vrch (432 m), in the south of the Stříbrník ( Silberstein , 507 m). Below the locality of Studánka, the Ještědský potok turns south and flows east of Dubnice through an unpopulated valley. At Stráž pod Ralskem the stream flows north past the Horecký rybník and flows into the Ploučnice after 18.4 kilometers at the foot of the Zámecký vrch ( castle hill , 356 m) .

The upper course of the brook in Křižany and Žibřidice was slightly regulated, the uninhabited lower course through its wide flat valley is natural. The Ještědský potok is a trout water of quality class I – II.
