Jean-Claude Makaya Loembe

Jean-Claude Makaya Loembe (born May 13, 1954 in Pointe-Noire , Central Congo ) is a Congolese clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Pointe-Noire .

Life

Jean-Claude Makaya Loembe was ordained a priest for the diocese of Pointe-Noire on July 3, 1983 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Pointe-Noire on December 19, 1994. The Bishop of Poitiers , Albert Jean-Marie Rouet , ordained him episcopal on April 22nd of the following year ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Diego Causero , Apostolic Nuncio in the Republic of the Congo and Central African Republic , and Barthélémy Batantu , Archbishop of Brazzaville .

Pope Benedict XVI decreed his removal as Bishop of Pointe-Noire on March 31, 2011. According to press reports, financial irregularities and the loss of confidence in his clergy led to his release from office.
