Jean-Paul Gusching (born June 25, 1955 in Neuville-Coppegueule , Somme department , France ) is a French clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Verdun .

Life

Jean-Paul Gusching was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Amiens on June 19, 1983 . Since 2004 he was Vicar General of the Diocese of Amiens.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Verdun on July 3, 2014. The Archbishop of Besançon , Jean-Luc Bouilleret , ordained him episcopal on September 21 of the same year. Co- consecrators were his predecessor as Bishop of Verdun, François Maupu , and the Bishop of Amiens, Olivier Leborgne .
