Jean-Pierre Castaldi (born October 1, 1944 in Grenoble , France ) is a French actor .

Life

Jean-Pierre Castaldi was born in Grenoble while his father Ange Castaldi was a student. After completing his studies, the mechanical engineer moved to Oran , Algeria . He lived in Filicudi , Sicily for a while before spending his youth in Buenos Aires , Argentina . He learned English, Spanish and French relatively quickly. He traveled extensively and returned to France in 1954 without his parents. These followed a year later after Juan Perón was overthrown. After being raised by Jesuits for two years , he lived with his parents in Paris from 1960. In 1965, while studying economics and languages, he began studying acting with René Simon and Raymond Girard . In particular, the encounter with Jean-Laurent Cochet led him to drop out of his studies in order to devote himself completely to acting.

After his studies he played theater under Sacha Guitry and was often seen in several series and films as an extra and nameless supporting roles. In 1973 he first played a leading role in a feature film. In the French drama Ras le bol , directed by Michel Huisman , he played Ondè alongside Xavier Gélin and Ève Bonfanti .

Castaldi was married to the actress Catherine Allégret , with whom he has a son, Benjamin Castaldi . He is currently married to Corinne Champeval, with whom he has two children.
