Jean de Natalis

Jean de Natalis (born May 5, 1670 in Montauban , Languedoc ; † March 29, 1754 in Neuchâtel) was a Prussian colonel and Prussian governor of the canton of Neuchâtel .

Life

Natalis was the son of the colonel and later counselor Jean de Natalis and Marthe de Colom .

He had to flee France in 1686 and, like many religious refugees, came to Brandenburg-Prussia . There he went to the military and was one of the auxiliary troops that Prussia made available to the emperor.

On December 31, 1701 he received a company in Infantry Regiment No. 37 (later von Braun ), which was formed from French refugees. In 1713 he became a major and in 1719 a lieutenant colonel .

He then became commander of Pillau , rose to colonel in 1721 and took over garrison regiment No. II . In February 1742 he came to Neuchâtel as a colonel and Prussian governor . After his death, George Keith took over this post.

He was married to Susanne de la Fargue (also: Lafargue ) since 1720 . She was the daughter of a council at the Chamber of Commerce in Königsberg. Of their children, their son Paul became a Prussian major general .
