Jeff Brillinger

Jeff Brillinger (* around 1945 ) is an American modern jazz musician ( drums ) .

Live and act

Brillinger studied at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, with whose student ensemble the first recordings were made around 1967 ( Jazz in the Classroom, Volume XII ). During this time he also performed with Clark Terry , Zoot Sims , Bob Brookmeyer , Mel Tormé and Mose Allison . In 1974/75 he was a member of Woody Herman and His Orchestra , with whom he appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival . In the following years he worked with jazz musicians such as Chet Baker ( Broken Wing , 1978), Stan Getz ( Jazzbühne Berlin '78 ), Horace Silver , Chris Connor , Gunther Schuller , Jackie Cain / Roy Kral and Jack McDuff . From the 1990s he continued to play with Hod O'Brien , John Patitucci , Jed Levy , Ken Peplowski , Tom Harrell , Ron McClure , Andy Laverne , Roger Rosenberg , Joel Weiskopf and Cecilia Coleman . In the field of jazz he was involved in 42 recording sessions between 1967 and 2010. He also worked as a music teacher in New York.
