Maund began his professional career after two years with the Ohio State University ice hockey team at the Florida Everblades in the East Coast Hockey League . In 2000 he moved to the American Hockey League and completed two seasons there before he ventured for the first time to Europe and signed with the Russian first division club HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk , where he only made three appearances. Then he returned to his first professional team before finally moving to Europe.
After a very good season with the Italian team SV Ritten-Renon , he signed a contract with the Vienna Capitals in Austria , but could not convince there and, according to his own statements, did not feel comfortable with the team, so the contract was terminated prematurely. He finished the season at ERC Ingolstadt in the German Ice Hockey League and returned to Italy the following season. When SG Cortina , he has been active for three years and was able to celebrate with the team in 2007, the Italian championship.
