Jefferson Santos Pereira (born June 8, 1989 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Qatari beach volleyball player of Brazilian origin.
Career
Jefferson was ninth with Vinícius Silveira Rosa at the 2006 Youth World Cup in Bermuda . At the Junior World Championships in Brighton he reached 19th place with Gabriel Silva Francisco Pereira. In 2013, the native Brazilian left his home country because of the great competition; since then he has played for Qatar. With Tiago de Jesus Santos he took part in the Durban Open of the FIVB World Tour . The duo came ninth at the Fuzhou Open and the first Grand Slam followed in Shanghai . After finishing fifth at the Anapa Open, Jefferson / Tiago were third in the Asian championship. Then they played four Grand Slams and the Doha Open without getting past 25th place. In 2015 Jefferson formed a new duo with Cherif Younousse . After the first joint open tournaments in Fuzhou and Lucerne , Jefferson / Cherif took part in the 2015 World Cup in the Netherlands. There they came in third in the group in the knockout round and made it to the quarter-finals. They then played at the Grand Slam in Olsztyn and the Xiamen Open, before taking part in the first-ever open tournament in Qatar. In early 2016 they won the Kisch Open. At the Grand Slam in Rio de Janeiro and three open tournaments, they each took 25th place. They finished the Asian Championship in fifth place. At the Continental Cup of the AVC , Jefferson / Cherif prevailed against the competitors from Asia and qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games , where they finished ninth. Jefferson / Cherif also finished ninth at the 2017 World Cup in Vienna .
In 2018 Jefferson played a. a. with Manuel Lohmann on the German Techniker Beach Tour .
